For a unique and thoughtful holiday gift idea, give
a wreath crafted of boxwood from the Mount Airy Mansion. Built around
1660 as a hunting lodge by Charles Calvert, the Third Lord Baltimore, Mount
Airy Mansion has been visited by seven U.S. Presidents. George Washington
was a frequent guest and is said to have given the Calverts the boxwood in
front of this lovely old home. A portion
of the proceeds goes to help maintain the mansion gardens for the enjoyment of
future generations.
Each wreath comes with a brief story about Mount Airy and, if
selected, a beautiful holiday gift card including your personalized message.
To make these wreaths, we gather boxwood
cuttings from the mansion through our Sustainable Harvest Program that
enhances the health of the boxwood plants. Quantities are limited as
part of this program.
